Since it first opened in 2005 the Café was part of the Churches Together in Heald Green Youth Initiative. However, in April 2014 the Trustees of the Churches Together in Heald Green Youth Initiative decided to cease operating Café Unity to concentrate on the youth work. As a consequence a small group supported by the Ratepayers decided to continue it as a Community Café under the management of Sarah. In June 2014, Café Unity 2014 Ltd was formed and from the 1st September it became the sole owner of Café Unity. On the 10th April, 2015 we became a registered charity – 1161239.
We are all excited by this and to help us in providing the funding for our Community Café we have launched an appeal “The Friends of the New Café Unity”. You can help in this appeal either by making a one off donation or even better committing to a regular monthly donation. Just a £1 a week or £5 a month would be a real encouragement for our work.
If you think you can help then please download and complete a Standing Order form by clicking here
As ‘friend’ you will receive our monthly newsletter but also money saving coupons to use at the Café.
Our Pledge to the friends of the New Café Unity
If you will join us in supporting this important venture for Heald Green we pledge the following:
We will continue to be a friendly place where you can relax
We will keep our prices competitive
We will offer a warm welcome to everyone young and old
We will write to you at least three times a year with news about our café
Each year we will hold an open day where you can meet the staff and Trustees and tell us what you feel about our café
Throughout the year we will be open to any suggestions about how we can improve our service or range of services
We will always put our customers first.
Thank you once again for supporting us in this way and continuing to support us by regularly coming and enjoying our teas and coffees.
